French Doughnuts



Beignets, another name for these French doughnuts, are a delicious treat. They have a hint of sweetness and are fluffy and light with powdered sugar added. Perfect as a tasty snack or for breakfast!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions:

In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt

In another bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms

Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350F 175C

Drop spoonfuls of dough into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side

Remove doughnuts from the oil and drain on paper towels

Dust the doughnuts with powdered sugar while they are still warm
